Rosendal - Odda - Utne - Jondal - Mundheim - Rosendal.
This excursion from Rosendal takes you by bus along the fjord, past Ænes and the beautiful Furebergfossen falls, through the Folgefonna Tunnel, to the old industrial town of Odda. We’ll pause in fjordside Odda before continuing our trip along the Sørfjord, an arm of the Hardangerfjord. Our journey to Utne passes farms, orchards and the steep mountainsides below the Folgefonna National Park. The charming village is dominated by Utne Hotel, which dates back to 1722.
We continue along the fjord to the village of Jondal, through charming hamlets and past slate-roofed farmhouses. We stop briefly in Jondal, which calls itself “the national park village”, before crossing the Hardangerfjord by ferry to Tørvikbygd.
On the other side we head seawards along the fjord, stopping a while at Mundheim, before changing buses to Gjermundshamn. En route, you will see the high mountains near the Folgefonna glacier. A ferry takes us across the Hardangerfjord to Årsnes via the island of Varaldsøy, for the final drive back to Rosendal.

About our trips
This is a “Travel like the locals” tour. The tours use public transport, i.e. regular buses, ferries and boats, but we have done the planning for you so that you can concentrate on enjoying your trip. You travel on your own - there is no guide or tour leader. On most of our tours you must change several times between different buses/ferries/boats, and it is up to you to make sure you catch your connections – truly travelling like a local! (The tours are set up so that the buses, ferries and boats connect.)
Trips are not available for booking on public holidays and during holiday periods such as Easter and Christmas due to deviations in the timetables. The timetable shown is valid for the periods when the trip is bookable.
