Round trip from Skei to Svanøy

From NOK 833

Skei - Førde - Florø - Svanøy - Florø - Førde - Skei.

This trip starts with a bus trip from Skei to Førde. The bus trip goes through an amazing landscape, for example along the Jølstravatnet lake, where you can see the nature around reflected in the lake. You have a little time in Førde before you take the next bus to Florø. Førde is a small town with possibilities for a meal in a café or restaurant and shopping. In Florø you have a little time to look around and make your way to the quay to catch the boat to Svanøy.

Svanøy, known as the pearl of Sunnfjord, is a verdant island with a fascinating history.

From Florø, the local boat sails through a magnificent landscape to the bay of Svanøy, Svanøybukt. Svanøybukt is popular with locals and holidaymakers alike.

Historic Svanøy Hovedgård is just 10 minutes walk from Svanøybukt. In its time, the manor house has been home to both aristocrats and bishops.

5 km beyond her is Norsk Hjortesenter – the Norwegian Deer Centre, a national centre of expertise on the red deer, where you can experience the deer at close quarters!

In Svanøybukt, you`ll find a general store and an inn. You can get a free map of the island and hire bikes at the general store. Cycling around this verdant island is a fantastic experience. Why not ring +47 57 74 00 29 to reserve a bike in advance?

Next to the general store is the inn, Svanøy Kro, where you can enjoy vension or salmon burgers made locally using ingredients sourced from the area.

When you come back from Svanøy to Florø you also have some time in Florø before the bus goes back to Førde. In Førde there is also a short pause before you take the bus back to Skei.

About our trips
This is a “Travel like the locals” tour. The tours use public transport, i.e. regular buses, ferries and boats, but we have done the planning for you so that you can concentrate on enjoying your trip. You travel on your own - there is no guide or tour leader. On most of our tours you must change several times between different buses/ferries/boats, and it is up to you to make sure you catch your connections – truly travelling like a local! (The tours are set up so that the buses, ferries and boats connect.)

Trips are not available for booking on public holidays and during holiday periods such as Easter and Christmas due to deviations in the timetables. The timetable shown is valid for the periods when the trip is bookable.
