Haugesund - Nedstrand - Stavanger.
This trip goes from Haugesund to Nedstrand, where you have time to hike to the top of the Himakånå mountain and then get back down and take a beautiful boat trip to Stavanger.
Himakånå rises a relatively modest 357 meters above sea level, and this rock formation is known as “Little Trolltunga”.
Himakånå is much more modest than Trolltunga, which can be an advantage. The hike is shorter, more accessible, and family friendly. The trail runs through mountain pastures, small forests and fields.
From the top, Himakånå offers panoramic views of Lysevatnet lake, Nedstrandsfjord and the farms surrounded by lush forests.
You can also choose to spend the day at the climbing park in Nedstrand, “Høyt og Lavt” (“High and Low”.
In the afternoon, you take the bus from Hinderåvåg bus stop to Nedstrand quay. Here you board the express boat that goes to Ropeid and then on to Stavanger. The boat will take you for a little fjord cruise from Ropeid to some other stops and then back to Ropeid before going to Stavanger.
Please stay on the boat during the whole journey as the stops are only for passengers leaving or embarking the boat.
Departure from: Haugesund bus terminal, track 5
About our trips
This is a “Travel like the locals” tour. The tours use public transport, i.e. regular buses, ferries and boats, but we have done the planning for you so that you can concentrate on enjoying your trip. You travel on your own - there is no guide or tour leader. On most of our tours you must change several times between different buses/ferries/boats, and it is up to you to make sure you catch your connections – truly travelling like a local! (The tours are set up so that the buses, ferries and boats connect.)
Trips are not available for booking on public holidays and during holiday periods such as Easter and Christmas due to deviations in the timetables. The timetable shown is valid for the periods when the trip is bookable.
