Stavanger - (Sandnes) - Hommersåk - Stavanger.
On weekdays the trip first goes by train from Stavanger along the Gandsfjord to the neighbouring town of Sandnes. Then the trip continues by bus through varied scenery to beautiful Hommersåk. On Saturdays and Sundays there is a boat directly from Stavanger to Hommersåk.
In Hommersåk you have time to stroll around. It is possible to purchase food at Bryggen Senter.
Here are suggestions for some short trips in the area:
Ulsneset: The tour starts near the parking lot opposite the Boat House in Breivikveien. Here is a large information board. The circular trail of approx. 700 m is accessible, also for electric wheelchair users. There are several picnic areas on the path, fishing spots and huts with fire places free to use. There is also a small beach with toilet facilities in Breivik, separated from the hiking trail.
Trip to Frøylandsvatnet: Walk the Kaiveien to Riska old church and the Stemmen. At Stemmen there is a children's playground and an adult sand volleyball court. Follow the hiking route along Stemmen to Frøylandsvatnet. After a while you come to a reconstructed mill and drought. Here you can see how the old water mill was operated.
Back to Stavanger you take the speedboat from Hommersåk through the beautiful and idyllic archipelago with its many islands and islets.
Departure from: Stavanger station (Monday-Friday) or Fiskepirterminalen (Saturday and Sunday).
About our trips
This is a “Travel like the locals” tour. The tours use public transport, i.e. regular buses, ferries and boats, but we have done the planning for you so that you can concentrate on enjoying your trip. You travel on your own - there is no guide or tour leader. On most of our tours you must change several times between different buses/ferries/boats, and it is up to you to make sure you catch your connections – truly travelling like a local! (The tours are set up so that the buses, ferries and boats connect.)
Trips are not available for booking on public holidays and during holiday periods such as Easter and Christmas due to deviations in the timetables. The timetable shown is valid for the periods when the trip is bookable.
