Stavanger - Sauda - Stavanger.
This journey goes by express boat and bus from Stavanger to Sauda (Monday-Thursday), or by express boat directly to Sauda (Friday and Sunday). The trip starts at Fiskepirterminalen in Stavanger and goes through the fjords to Sauda.
The town is surrounded by hundreds of mountains – high and low. Anyone can find a hike that is suitable.
At Allmannajuvet, along National Scenic Route Ryfylke towards Saudafjellet, there is an open café and guiding in the mines during the summer. Here you can experience magnificent architecture and learn about the history of the mines. In Sauda town centre you can go shopping or you can enjoy a meal in a café or restaurant.
Åbøbyen, which are one of the best preserved workers’ quarters from the period when power-intensive industry was established in Norway, is an excellent area for a stroll.
On a hot summer day it is possible to cool down on one of the many small beaches along the Sauda fjord or in a lake. In Sauda there is also an indoor heated swimming pool. In the summer, you can also use an outdoor water slide, jumping pool, a children’s pool and a recreational area.
Visit the local Tourist Information to get some ideas on what you can do to make the most of your stay in Sauda.
On the trip back to Stavanger, you travel by bus and by boat (Monday-Thursday), or on a direct express boat (Friday-Sunday).
Departure from: Stavanger boat terminal (Fiskepirterminalen)
About our trips
This is a “Travel like the locals” tour. The tours use public transport, i.e. regular buses, ferries and boats, but we have done the planning for you so that you can concentrate on enjoying your trip. You travel on your own - there is no guide or tour leader. On most of our tours you must change several times between different buses/ferries/boats, and it is up to you to make sure you catch your connections – truly travelling like a local! (The tours are set up so that the buses, ferries and boats connect.)
Trips are not available for booking on public holidays and during holiday periods such as Easter and Christmas due to deviations in the timetables. The timetable shown is valid for the periods when the trip is bookable.
